About This Job
The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) is recruiting project staff for its Telemetry Project, which is installing a real-time discharge-monitoring system at 27 key sites on the Indus Basin Irrigation System across Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Two vacancies are on offer for Assistant Director (Flow Measurement) on PPS-07, responsible for leading field teams that carry out flow measurement and assisting the Deputy Director (Central).
The role covers planning and supervising flow-measurement field staff in carrying out measurements, data collection, processing and reporting; implementing international standards and guidelines such as USGS and ISO in all measurements and observations to maintain data quality; and assisting in generating monthly, quarterly and annual reports on measurements and results. Eligible candidates must be up to 35 years of age with a B.Sc. degree in Civil/Agriculture from an HEC-recognized university (an M.Sc. in Hydrology/Water Resources is preferred), preferably 2 years of experience in hydrometry/flow measurements in rivers and canals, an understanding of the Indus River's flow dynamics and seasonal variations, proven skills with conventional current meters, ADCP and GPS, and knowledge of safety requirements in flow measurement work.
This is a project-mode appointment on the PPS-07 pay package of Rs. 157,500 per month plus 5% annual increment, with postings possible anywhere at project sites in Pakistan. Qualification Required
