About This Job
The Indus River System Authority (IRSA), an autonomous body of the Government of Pakistan, is recruiting project staff for its Telemetry Project - the installation of a real-time discharge-monitoring system at 27 key sites across the Indus Basin Irrigation System, distributed as 16 sites in Punjab, 3 in Sindh, 5 in Balochistan and 3 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Among the 24 categories of staff being hired is one Deputy Director (Monitoring) on PPS-08, who will assist the Director General (Monitoring) in operating and maintaining the installed telemetry system. Staff recruited through this drive will be attached with WAPDA during the execution phase for one year and thereafter through WAPDA's two-year maintenance period.
The Deputy Director (Monitoring) will collaborate with the Director General (Monitoring) to keep the system running, oversee and manage subordinate field teams for smooth functioning of the telemetry network, attend to and rectify faults as they arise, supervise Assistant Directors for efficient use of resources, and draw up demand for spares based on observed fault patterns. Eligible candidates must be up to 40 years of age and hold an M.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics with 8 years of relevant experience in design/installation of equipment, or a B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 12 years of such experience, along with design or installation experience on at least one SCADA and telecommunication project, working knowledge of solar, power and IoT technology, and full proficiency in MS Office and relevant technical/HMI software; prior management and coordination experience is preferred.
This is a project-mode appointment on the PPS-08 pay package of Rs. 218,750 per month plus 5% annual increment, with postings possible anywhere at project sites in Pakistan. Qualification Required
- Qualification: M.Sc. Electrical/Electronics with 8 years' experience in design/installation of equipment; OR B.Sc. Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 12 years' experience in design/installation of equipment; design/installation experience of at least one SCADA and telecommunication project; working knowledge of Solar, Power and IoT technology; preference given to prior management, administration and coordination experience; fully proficient in MS Office and relevant technical software/HMI.
