The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) is recruiting project staff for its Telemetry Project, installing a real-time discharge-monitoring system at 27 key sites across the Indus Basin Irrigation System spanning Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Two posts of Hydrographer are on offer to support flow-measurement work at project sites nationwide.

The Hydrographer will operate flow-measurement equipment for flow measurement in rivers and canals, assembling and mounting equipment at sites and conducting measurements with a conventional current meter or ADCP through wading, boat or bridge, while maintaining logs of observations and data per standard requirements and expert instructions. Eligible candidates must be up to 30 years of age with a minimum DAE in Civil or Mechanical discipline from a recognized institute; one year of experience operating flow-measurement equipment is preferred.

This is a project-mode appointment on the PPS-05 pay package of Rs. 70,000 per month plus 5% annual increment, with postings possible anywhere at project sites in Pakistan.
