About This Job

Ignite - National Technology Fund is hiring a Head of AI (Grade-V (A)) on contract for one vacancy in Islamabad to lead the National AI Innovation Hub (NAIIH) and other AI-related initiatives, recruited through the National Job Portal (NJP). Reporting to the GM Projects, this is a senior leadership role responsible for programme execution, stakeholder coordination, project governance and the achievement of Ignite's AI ecosystem objectives, making it one of the more strategic postings in the current federal IT recruitment round.

The Head of AI will oversee programme delivery and the performance of vendors, operators and implementation partners, provide technical oversight of AI compute infrastructure, platforms and data repositories under NAIIH, and support development of foundation models along with Urdu and regional-language AI capabilities and AI-as-a-Service offerings. The role also involves coordinating with the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication (MoITT), government entities, development partners, academia and industry stakeholders, alongside mentoring the AI programme team. Eligible candidates need a Master's degree in Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related discipline, with a minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in designing, procuring or implementing large-scale digital systems and demonstrated leadership of national-scale digital platforms or programmes.
