International Islamic University Islamabad has invited expressions of interest for Director General of Islamic Research Institute (IRI), one of four specialized constituent units covered by the current call. The university is looking for a qualified, dynamic and accomplished senior academic at professor level who can lead the unit's teaching, research, administration, partnerships and institutional development. The appointment is for a fixed term of two years from joining and is reviewed annually by the President in consultation with the Rector. Exceptional performance may support a one-time extension of another two years. Compensation is aligned with the university package applicable to a Professor under BPS, TTS, contract, CPS or sponsored models, together with privileges approved by the Board of Governors. This is a leadership selection rather than a routine faculty recruitment, so the candidate's strategic fit with the unit's mandate is central.

The essential academic requirement is a PhD from an HEC-recognized university or institution in an educational discipline relevant to Islamic Research Institute (IRI). An applicant must have at least five years of post-PhD teaching, research or administrative experience, or at least fifteen years of total teaching and research experience. The call also requires a demonstrated record of teaching, research, administration and/or financial management within a higher-education institution. Desirable experience includes work with statutory university authorities such as an Academic Council, Syndicate, Finance and Planning Committee or BASR; handling high-level academic business models and complex institutional programmes; national or international contributions through policy papers, projects, interventions or patents; and the ability to prepare and execute a financially sustainable institutional business plan. Technology-enabled knowledge management, quality frameworks, consensus-building, communication and national or international collaboration are named competencies.
