About This Job

National IT Board (NITB) is recruiting a Geomatics Specialist (PPS-10) on contract for one vacancy in Islamabad to support the SII Digital Twin platform under the Smart Islamabad Initiative, with hiring conducted through the National Job Portal (NJP). This role leads geomatics, GIS, remote sensing and related IT operations for the platform, overseeing the acquisition and processing of spatial data — satellite imagery, LiDAR, drone survey and GPS data — in coordination with CDA survey teams, and is central to building an accurate 3D digital twin of the city.

The specialist will develop and maintain spatial databases, enterprise GIS systems and 3D city-model layers, ensure data quality and compliance with Pak-NSDI and SDI standards, manage GIS dashboards and mobile GIS tools, and lead planning of IT infrastructure for geospatial components including servers, cybersecurity and backups. Eligible candidates should hold a BS or MS in Space Sciences, GIS, Geomatics, Software Engineering or Computer Sciences (16 years of education) with 10 years of relevant experience. The upper age limit is 50 years, with relaxation already incorporated per NITB's posting, while the minimum age defaults to 18 as none is separately stated.
