About This Job

National IT Board (NITB) is hiring a Spatial Planning Specialist (PPS-10) on contract for one vacancy in Islamabad under the SII Digital Twin platform, part of the Smart Islamabad Initiative, recruited through the National Job Portal (NJP). This position provides strategic leadership for integrating geospatial technologies into urban and regional planning, supervising the preparation, updating and digitisation of master plans, zoning maps and land-use data using GIS and remote-sensing tools.

The role coordinates with system-integrator vendors to keep spatial databases and planning outputs consistent across agencies, oversees digital spatial databases that feed evidence-based decision-making and Digital Twin analytics, and works with GIS developers, town planners and survey teams to ensure accurate spatial data collection. The specialist also guides digitisation of town-planning processes, manages planners and GIS analysts on the team, and supports city-level spatial analytics dashboards at the Fusion Centre Command & Control Centre. Eligible candidates need a BSc in City & Regional Planning (CRP) or an MS in CRP/GIS, with PCATP registration preferred, plus 10 years of relevant experience. The upper age limit is 50 years, with relaxation already built in per NITB's posting; minimum age defaults to 18. The post is open to both genders with no domicile restriction stated.

Candidates can apply directly on the National Job Portal, where this vacancy is listed live under NITB, with the entire process — registration, profile update and submission — handled online. There is no postal or walk-in application route. The closing date is 29 July 2026, after which the system will no longer accept applications for this post.
