Apply before 24 July 2026. Full application steps and eligibility criteria are below.
About This Job
Pakistan Army has reopened registration for its 2026 Medical Cadet Course, the entry route for male candidates into Army Medical College under the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS). Selected cadets pursue an MBBS (or BDS, where applicable) degree while being groomed for a future commissioned medical role in the Armed Forces — a path that combines rigorous pre-medical training with the discipline, structure and long-term career security of military service, and one that has historically drawn strong interest from science students across Pakistan.
Eligibility rests primarily on FSc Pre-Medical performance: candidates generally need at least 70% marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry, though a relaxed 65% threshold applies to domicile holders of Balochistan, the Tharparkar and Umerkot districts of Sindh, the Northern Areas, Upper Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir, and the merged tribal districts. Those with O-Level/A-Level qualifications instead need an IBCC equivalence certificate with grade conversion, while candidates still awaiting their FSc Part-II result may apply on a Hope Certificate (with 70% in Part-I), provided the final attested certificate is submitted to the PA Directorate at GHQ Rawalpindi within five days of the result. Crucially, every applicant must also sit and pass the fresh NUMS MDCAT-2026, with a minimum of 55% required for those pursuing the BDS stream. The course is open only to unmarried male citizens of Pakistan (plus Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan domicile holders) up to 28 years of age as of 1 November 2026, and candidates previously found unfit by an Appeal Medical Board, dismissed from a training institution on disciplinary grounds, or convicted of a serious offence are not eligible.
Registration is entirely online at joinpakarmy.gov.pk and remains open from 15 June to 24 July 2026. Shortlisted candidates undergo a written MCQ-based test, physical standards (an 8-minute 1km run, 15 push-ups and 15 sit-ups within two minutes), and a medical examination at their nearest Army Selection and Recruitment Centre, with the full testing window running from 27 July to 26 August 2026. Applicants should have attested copies of their Matric and FSc certificates, CNIC/Form-B, and passport photographs ready ahead of their scheduled test date, and should budget for the registration and examination fee, payable via NBP bank deposit. Candidates finally selected commit to a minimum 13-year service bond with Pakistan Army, effective once their MBBS degree is complete — those interested should register before the 24 July 2026 deadline.
