About This Job
Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), a public-sector electricity distribution utility operating under the Ministry of Energy's Power Division, has announced a vacancy for the position of Deputy Manager (Finance) in its Market Implementation & Regulatory Affairs Department (MIRAD), based at PESCO Head Office in Peshawar. The company is looking to fill one post purely on a contract basis, with remuneration on a lump-sum pay basis that is extendable subject to satisfactory performance. The role sits within PESCO's regulatory and market-facing finance function and comes as the power sector continues its transition toward a more competitive electricity market structure, making this an important opportunity for finance professionals with a specialization relevant to the power and utility sector.
Candidates are eligible under three alternative qualification routes: membership of a recognized body of professional accountants such as ACA, ACMA, or ACCA (or an equivalent qualification); or ACA Intermediate, ICMA Intermediate, or ACCA Affiliate status combined with a minimum of three years of relevant post-qualification experience; or an M.Com, MBA (Finance), or MS Finance degree combined with a minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in financial management, contract or commercial finance, treasury operations, or regulatory finance. In all cases, experience gained in the power or utility sector is preferred, and applicants are expected to have a working understanding of the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contracts Market (CTBCM), regulatory affairs, and the bilateral contract and bidding process, with knowledge of the electricity market considered an added advantage. The post is offered on Contractual Pay Scale 18, and applicants must not exceed 40 years of age. The position is open to both men and women who are Pakistani citizens, and candidates already serving in government, semi-government, autonomous, or public-sector organizations are required to apply through the proper channel.
Interested applicants should download the prescribed application form from PESCO's official website, www.pesco.com.pk, and submit it along with a detailed Curriculum Vitae arranged in chronological order, attested copies of educational testimonials and professional certifications, experience certificates, a copy of the CNIC, and recent passport-size photographs. Complete applications, along with all supporting documents, must be sent to the Director General (HR), Room No. 102, PESCO Headquarters, WAPDA House, Sakhi Chashma Shami Road, Peshawar. No application fee is mentioned in the advertisement. All applications must reach PESCO within fifteen days of the advertisement's publication and not later than 21 September 2026; incomplete applications, or those received after the closing date, will not be entertained. Only shortlisted candidates meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria will be called for an interview, original documents must be produced at that stage, and no TA/DA will be admissible at any point in the recruitment process, so eligible finance professionals are encouraged to prepare and submit their applications well ahead of the deadline.
