The Department of History at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, has announced a walk-in interview and teaching demonstration to hire Visiting/Part-time Teachers for the Fall Semester 2026. Rather than a single vacancy, the department is filling its semester teaching load across thirteen course offerings, ranging from its core subject of History and the related Introduction to Sociology, through to general-education courses shared across QAU's undergraduate programs such as Functional English, Pakistan Studies, Ideology and Constitution of Pakistan, Islamic Studies, Civic and Community Engagement, Everyday Science, Creative Writing, Quantitative Reasoning-I, Applications of Information and Communication Technologies, and two levels of Understanding of the Holy Quran-I (one for BS students and one for MPhil/PhD students). Quaid-i-Azam University is one of Pakistan's leading HEC-recognized public-sector research universities, and its individual departments routinely advertise short-window visiting-faculty openings directly through the university's own jobs portal rather than through a centralized recruitment drive.
The minimum eligibility stated in the notice is an MS or MPhil degree in the relevant field, with PhD holders or PhD-enrolled candidates who also carry university teaching experience given preference during shortlisting. No numeric age limit, domicile restriction, or gender preference is mentioned in the official circular, which was issued by the Chairperson of the Department of History and copied to the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Registrar for information. Unlike some of QAU's other visiting-faculty notices that rely on an emailed CV, this particular opening is structured around an in-person interview and teaching demonstration rather than a written screening stage, reflecting the department's preference to assess candidates' teaching delivery directly before engagement for the semester.
Interested and eligible candidates should prepare a one-page CV along with their original educational documents and appear in person before the Departmental Selection Committee on Thursday, 27 August 2026, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, at the Department of History's own office at QAU. No separate call letter will be issued ahead of this date, so candidates are expected to attend directly on the strength of the published notice, and no TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview/demo. Candidates who are already employed elsewhere will be required to submit a No-Objection Certificate from their current employer if selected. For any queries about the process, prospective applicants can contact the Department of History office directly at 051-90643031; given the short notice period before the scheduled interview date, interested candidates are encouraged to prepare and attend promptly.
