About This Job
The High Court of Balochistan has announced 77 vacancies for Judicial Magistrate-cum-Civil Judge in BPS-18, to be filled through initial recruitment into the Balochistan District Judiciary. The advertisement, signed by the Registrar in Quetta on 20 October 2026, replaces the September notice for sixty posts, which the court withdrew once new eligibility criteria were approved. The intake has now grown to seventy-seven seats. This is the standard entry rank for a career on the provincial bench, so it is a strong opening for young lawyers and serving law officers from Balochistan who want to move into judicial service and serve in district courts across the province.
Applicants need a law degree from a university recognised by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, or must be a barrister from England or Ireland. On top of that, they need two years of experience as an advocate or lawyer. A law officer in a regular BPS-17 or higher post can qualify with two years of service instead. The court's portal defines a law officer as someone serving regularly and full-time as an assistant, deputy or district attorney or prosecutor, or as an employee of the superior court. Candidates must be between 23 and 35 years old under Rule 13 of the Balochistan Judicial Officers Service Rules, 2021, with age counted on the closing date. A Balochistan local or domicile certificate is compulsory, and both male and female candidates may apply. Practising lawyers must also list at least five judgments from cases they conducted with their name as counsel. Anyone who applied before and already sent five judgments does not need to apply again.
The application is entirely online through the official portal at jobs.bhc.gov.pk. Applications sent any other way will not be accepted. After registering and filling in the profile, candidates upload legible scans of their verified educational documents, attested domicile certificate and CNIC, a recent photograph, a lower court licence, a high court licence if they hold one, and a fresh Bar Council experience certificate or, for in-service applicants, a service certificate or NOC with earlier appointment orders. The advertisement does not mention any application fee. The syllabus can be downloaded from www.bhc.gov.pk, and the eligible list will be posted after scrutiny. The test schedule comes later, with date sheets and roll number slips issued by the Examination Cell a week before the exam, and no TA/DA is admissible. Applications close on 15 February 2027, so gather your papers and apply early.
