About This Job
The Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced 109 regular BPS-17 vacancies in the Directorate of Animal Health & Extension Services of the Livestock & Dairy Development Department, Government of Balochistan, under Consolidated Advertisement No. 09/2026 dated 9 October 2026. The combined recruitment covers a wide range of officer-level designations, including Assistant Director (Development, Planning, Data Reporting, Procurement, Technical, Coordination, Land Record and Research), Lecturer, Research Officer, Scientific Officer, Artificial Insemination Officer, Assistant District Livestock Officer and Veterinary Officer. Seats are divided as 17 on open merit, 17 for Kalat Zone, 12 each for Zhob, Nasirabad, Mekran and Quetta zones, and 6 each for Sibi Zone and Quetta City, with a further five posts each reserved for persons with disabilities, women and minorities. It is the largest single block of posts in this advertisement and a major opening for veterinary graduates in the province.
Every designation in this group requires a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or a B.Sc. (Hons) in Animal Husbandry or Veterinary Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university, together with valid registration with the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC). The screening test will be an MCQ paper in the relevant subject. The standard age bracket is 18 to 28 years, calculated on the closing date, but the Government of Balochistan has granted a general relaxation of 43 years for fresh general candidates, persons with disabilities and legal heirs of Shaheed, while government servants with at least two years of continuous regular service can apply up to the age of 50. No further relaxation beyond these limits will be entertained by any authority. Both male and female candidates are eligible, and applicants must hold the local or domicile certificate of their district in Balochistan, with married women outside government service allowed to apply on the basis of their husband's domicile if the certificate carries their name. Experience, where relevant, only counts if it was gained in regular, full-time paid employment after obtaining the required qualification; part-time, honorary, apprentice and internship work is not considered.
Applications for the advertised posts are accepted only through the online system on BPSC's website, www.bpsc.gob.pk, and the Commission has made clear that no hardcopy of the online form needs to be posted. After filling in the form, applicants generate a generic PSID and pay a fee of Rs. 800 through any 1Link banking channel, which includes mobile wallets such as EasyPaisa and JazzCash, banking apps, ATMs, internet banking, or the counter of any 1Link member bank branch; step-by-step fee guidelines are posted under the Jobs tab of the BPSC website. Admission certificates and roll number slips for the screening test will later be uploaded to the same website, with SMS alerts sent to candidates, and everyone must carry the downloaded slip along with an original CNIC to the test centre. Those who clear the written test move on to a viva voce covering current affairs, general knowledge about Balochistan, Pakistan and the wider world, Islamic or religious studies, and Pakistan studies, and they will be given ten days after BPSC's notice to submit a verified and attested set of documents, including educational certificates, CNIC, photographs, domicile and, for serving employees, a departmental permission certificate. The last date to apply is Wednesday, 11 November 2026, and no extra time will be allowed for any delay, so interested candidates should complete their applications well before the deadline rather than waiting until the final days.
