About This Job

The Directorate General of Archaeology, functioning under the Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department, Government of the Punjab, is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced Pakistani nationals for the contractual position of Chief Development Officer. The post is advertised against the ADP project "Establishment of Program Management Unit (PMU) for Punjab Tourism Rehabilitation and Revamping Projects", which is part of a dedicated Program Management Unit set up to steer Punjab's tourism rehabilitation and revamping initiatives. A single vacancy is being filled for this role, offered at PPS-10 of the Project Pay Scale. The engagement is purely contractual in nature — temporary, non-transferable and specific to this post and project — and does not confer any right to regularization or absorption into regular government service, regardless of the length of service rendered.

Candidates applying for this position should hold Master's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or Project Management from an HEC-recognized university, with registration under PCATP or PEC. On the experience front, the department requires Minimum 20 years of professional experience in planning and development projects, including at least 10 years in a senior leadership role. The opportunity is open to both male and female candidates, and applications are invited from across the country with no specific district domicile restriction attached to this post. Applicants are expected to fall within the 18 to 65 years age bracket as reckoned on the closing date for submission of applications. Candidates who are already serving in a government or semi-government department or organization are required to obtain a prior No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer before submitting their application, failing which their candidature may not be entertained. The salary offered against this post is disbursed on a lump-sum basis inclusive of all allowances, and is subject to an annual increment of 4% admissible under the Project Pay Scale; the department has not disclosed the exact rupee figure in the advertisement.

Interested and eligible candidates must apply online through the official Punjab Job Portal (www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk), submitting a separate, complete application specifically for this post. Applications that are incomplete, or that are not accompanied by the required supporting documents, will be rejected outright, and no correspondence will be entertained on this account. Only those candidates who are short-listed by the department will be intimated and called for an interview; no TA/DA will be admissible or paid to candidates for appearing in the interview process. The Competent Authority reserves the unqualified right to decrease the number of posts advertised, or to withhold or cancel the recruitment process against any position, at any stage and without assigning any reason whatsoever. Complete applications must reach the department on or before the closing date of 24-09-2026; applications received after the due date will not be considered under any circumstances. The Directorate General of Archaeology's office is located at 60-A, Garden Block, Garden Town, Lahore, and can be contacted at 042-99233357-58 for any queries relating to this recruitment drive.
