The Department of Zoology at Government College University (GCU) Lahore has announced two M.Phil. Research Fellowships under a Higher Education Commission (HEC) funded NRPU project (Project No. 20-196346-112) titled "Multi-omics and Artificial Intelligence-Based Multidimensional Remediation for Industrial Wastewater," led by Dr. Muhammad Tariq Zahid, Principal Investigator and Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology. The fellowships are intended to support currently enrolled GCU Lahore M.Phil students to conduct research as part of this funded project, which focuses on industrial wastewater treatment using multi-omics and artificial-intelligence-based remediation approaches.

Eligibility is restricted to students who are currently enrolled in an M.Phil programme in Zoology, Chemistry, or Environmental Sciences at GCU Lahore; the fellowships are not open to external candidates or students of other institutions. Each of the two fellowships carries a fixed stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month and is offered initially for a period of six months, extendable up to a maximum of two years, subject to satisfactory research progress and continued availability and release of funds from HEC. As this is a research fellowship rather than a regular faculty or staff appointment, no separate age, gender, or domicile restriction is stated beyond the GCU-enrolment requirement, and the opportunity is treated as open to all eligible enrolled students in the three named disciplines.
