About This Job
The Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC), a public-sector company under the Government of Punjab, has announced a vacancy for the post of Deputy Program Officer (Environment) at its Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Program (PICP). The position is based in Faisalabad and is offered on a contract basis at scale PPS-07, with one vacancy currently available. The role sits within PMDFC's program delivery structure and is responsible for supporting environmental compliance, safeguard planning and monitoring functions across municipal infrastructure projects implemented under PICP in the Faisalabad division. PMDFC has a long-running mandate of financing and supervising municipal development schemes across Punjab's cities, and its environmental staff play a central role in ensuring projects meet donor and regulatory safeguard requirements before and during implementation. The post is open to candidates of either gender who meet the stated eligibility criteria.
Eligible applicants must hold sixteen years of education in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences from an HEC-recognized university, which may be satisfied either through an MS or M.Phil degree (18 years of education) or a Bachelor's (Hons)/Master's degree (16 years of education) in a relevant discipline. Candidates are required to have a minimum of four years of post-qualification professional and technical experience in environmental analysis, with an increasing level of responsibility in the field. The advertisement specifically asks for demonstrated experience preparing Initial Environmental Examinations (IEEs), Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) as required under public-sector environmental regulations, along with experience preparing Social Assessment Reports (SARs), Social Management Plans (SMPs) and Resettlement & Rehabilitation Action Plans (RAPs) in compliance with an Environmental and Social Framework (ESF). Working knowledge of local government systems, the applicable regulatory framework, and donor-funded project procedures is considered an added advantage for this role. The advertised age bracket for this post is 18 to 45 years, and a Punjab domicile is required to be eligible for consideration.
Candidates who meet the above criteria can apply online through the Punjab Job Portal before the closing date of 27 September 2026. The advertisement does not mention any application fee for this post. Applicants are advised to review the full advertisement image published on the portal for complete terms and conditions, and to prepare scanned copies of their educational certificates, experience letters, CNIC, domicile certificate and a recent photograph in advance so the online application form can be completed without delay. Given the position closes within a limited window, interested and eligible candidates based in or willing to relocate to Faisalabad are encouraged to apply promptly.
