Khairpur Medical College (KMC), the public-sector medical college on Station Road in Khairpur Mir's, Sindh, has invited applications for 1 post of Assistant Professor in Infection Disease on its Clinical Sciences faculty. Infection Disease (Infectious Disease) is the medical specialty concerned with diagnosing and treating infectious illness, an area of particular public-health relevance in Sindh, combining ward and outpatient clinical duties with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. As Assistant Professor, the appointee will deliver lectures and practical or clinical teaching to MBBS students, contribute to the department's research output, and build seniority within the subject over the course of the appointment. This position is one of 61 teaching posts KMC has advertised together across the Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Registrar ranks in both its Basic and Clinical Sciences departments, and the appointment is purely on a contract basis for a period of one year, extendable on satisfactory performance and subject to approval of the competent authority.

The candidate must hold an MBBS degree together with a level-III postgraduate qualification such as FCPS, MD or MS in the specialty, or another level-III equivalent qualification approved by the SRC and recognized and registered by the PM&DC, along with two years of clinical experience in the subject at a recognized institute completed after obtaining the level-III qualification. Two research publications are required in the subject. The prescribed age bracket for this post is 27–55 years; the position is open to both male and female candidates who hold a domicile of Sindh Province, with women, minority, transgender and differently-abled-persons quotas observed as per the applicable policy of the Government of Sindh. Candidates already serving in government, semi-government, autonomous or semi-autonomous organizations must apply through proper channel with departmental permission (NOC), and eligibility and age criteria are otherwise governed by PM&DC regulations and the rules of the Government of Sindh.

The process for regular appointment against these posts is also under way through the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC); if a candidate is recommended and appointed on a regular basis by the SPSC against the same post -- whether during or after the contractual appointment of teaching faculty -- the contractual appointment stands automatically terminated from the date of the SPSC regular appointment, without further notice or claim for continuation.

All academic and professional credentials of selected candidates are subject to verification from the concerned Board, University, Council or other relevant authority as per Government of Sindh rules; any document found fake, forged, tampered with, or otherwise not genuine will result in cancellation/termination of the appointment and liability to further action under the relevant rules and law.
