About This Job
National Bank of Pakistan is recruiting Resident Engineers – Mechanical (OG-I) for its Logistics, Communications & Marketing area, covering Karachi and Gujrat. Reporting to the Departmental Head – Mechanical for the Central or South region, the engineer conducts site assessments, prepares cost estimates per the bank's procedures and PPRA rules, reviews layout plans with cross-functional teams, prepares bidding documents, and verifies project bills and invoices. The role also covers monitoring and assessing operation and maintenance of HVAC plants and lifts, and supervising mechanical work during building construction and renovation projects. The engineer also monitors and assesses operation-and-maintenance service quality for HVAC plants, lifts and similar systems, and provides on-site supervision of mechanical work during building construction and renovation as needed. Postings in both Karachi and Gujrat show the geographic spread of NBP's ongoing branch construction and facilities-maintenance program, which this role directly supports on the mechanical side.
Eligible candidates need a minimum B.E. (Mechanical) or B.Tech (Hons) Mechanical or an equivalent HEC-recognized qualification, with a Master's degree or relevant certification preferred. NBP wants a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, ideally including work at a bank or financial institution, along with sound project estimation and billing knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask across teams and manage time effectively. NBP also wants good analytical and problem-solving skills backed by strong business acumen, the ability to manage time effectively across assigned sites, and solid proficiency in MS Office for cost estimation and reporting.
The position is offered on a three-year contractual basis, renewable at management's discretion, with compensation as per NBP policy. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a test and/or panel interview, with no TA/DA payable.
