University of the Punjab's Pothohar Campus, Gujar Khan has announced one vacancy for Network Assistant (BS-17) on a contract basis, carrying a fixed lump-sum monthly pay of Rs. 99,500/- for an initial one-year term, extendable on satisfactory performance for the duration of the project.

Applicants must hold a BS in Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering (4 years), an MCS, an M.Sc IT or an equivalent HEC-accredited qualification, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in LAN & WAN design and management within a large public or private-sector network. Hands-on expertise in ADS, DNS, DHCP, SAMBA, FTP, Apache, ISA and Exchange servers on Windows and UNIX/Linux platforms is required, along with strong knowledge of Cisco switch/router configuration and network troubleshooting. The age limit for this post is 18 to 30 years as on the closing date.

Qualification Required

• Qualification:BS CS (4 years), BS IT (4 years), BS SE (4 years), MCS, M.Sc IT or equivalent qualification from an HEC-accredited Institute/University. Minimum 3 years experience in LAN & WAN design and management in a Public/Private sector organization having a large number of nodes. Hands-on expertise in ADS, DNS, DHCP, SAMBA, FTP, Apache, ISA, Exchange, Email and Proxy servers on Windows and UNIX/Linux platforms. Should have excellent knowledge of Cisco switches and routers configuration, network troubleshooting/performance issues in Windows/Linux systems, backup and recovery tools, and Windows installation.
