Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), the public-sector electricity distribution utility that serves Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Ministry of Energy's Power Division, has opened recruitment for a Deputy Manager (Regulatory Affairs) in its Market Implementation & Regulatory Affairs Department, commonly known as MIRAD. There is a single vacancy, and it is being filled purely on a contract basis with a lump-sum pay package placed on Contractual Pay Scale 18, extendable if the incumbent performs satisfactorily. MIRAD is the unit that handles PESCO's work on the shift toward a competitive wholesale electricity market, so this role suits professionals who want to work where power-sector regulation, contracts and market reform meet. The post is based in Peshawar, and the announcement appeared on the PESCO careers page on 12 October 2026.
To qualify, applicants need a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in Engineering, Law or Management Sciences from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission. PESCO is asking for at least five years of total professional experience, of which a minimum of three years must have been spent in the power sector, and experience in the relevant field will be given preference. The company also expects the successful candidate to understand how bilateral contracts and bidding processes work, and anyone with knowledge of competitive electricity markets will have an added advantage. The upper age limit is 40 years. Both men and women can apply, but applicants must be citizens of Pakistan, and those already working in government, semi-government, autonomous or other public-sector organizations have to route their applications through the proper channel. The appointment will be governed by PESCO's Contractual Employees Policy and is subject to approval by the competent authority.
Applying is done by post rather than online. Candidates should download the prescribed application form from PESCO's website, fill it in, and attach a detailed CV arranged in chronological order together with attested copies of educational testimonials, professional certifications, experience certificates, their CNIC, recent passport-size photographs and any other relevant documents. The complete set must reach the Director General (HR), Room No. 102, PESCO HQ, WAPDA House, Sakhi Chashma Shami Road, Peshawar, within fifteen days of the advertisement's publication; PESCO's careers page lists 18 October 2026 as the last date. No application fee is mentioned. Incomplete or late applications will not be entertained, only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview, original documents must be shown at that stage, and no TA/DA will be paid. Interested power-sector professionals should send their applications early to avoid missing the short window.
