Privatisation Commission — Ministry of Privatisation
Apply before 1 November 2026. Full application steps and eligibility criteria are below.
About This Job
The Privatisation Commission, which works under the federal Ministry of Privatisation in Islamabad, has opened one position for a Consultant Transaction at its own G-I scale. The post is offered on a contract basis, initially for three years, and the vacancy has been published both in the press and on the National Jobs Portal (NJP). The consultant will take charge of approved privatisation transactions from start to finish and make sure each one is carried out on time, in line with the rules and in a transparent way. Day-to-day work includes gathering and studying data on the entities and assets assigned for sale, such as their ownership, financial position, liabilities, legal standing and operations. The consultant will also run or coordinate preliminary due diligence and turn the findings into analytical reports that follow the Commission's approved templates. The role carries real decision-making weight. The consultant will draw up and present execution strategies, including whether a deal should be handled in-house or through outside financial advisors. They will also assess and recommend transaction structures, plan each deal in stages with clear milestones, and prepare key documents such as information memorandums, bidding documents, share purchase agreements and joint venture agreements. Briefs and presentations for the Commission, the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation and other forums are part of the job, as is reviewing the work of appointed financial advisors and recommending their payments. For finance and transactions professionals, this is a chance to work at the centre of the federal government's privatisation programme.
To be eligible, candidates need a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field from a university recognised by the Higher Education Commission. A professional certification is accepted instead of a degree: CPA, ACMA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA. A minimum of ten years of experience is required, and it can come from the insurance industry, the wider financial sector, the retail or corporate sector, mergers and acquisitions, or regulatory affairs. The Commission says it prefers candidates with international qualifications or experience, and those who have recently worked in similar-level positions in other organisations. The maximum age for this post is 55 years. The advertisement places no restriction on gender or domicile, so applicants from across Pakistan can compete on merit. The detailed eligibility criteria, job description and deliverables are published on the NJP listing and in the Career Opportunities section of the Privatisation Commission's website, and applicants should read them before applying.
Applications are accepted online only, through the National Jobs Portal at njp.gov.pk, within fifteen days of the advertisement's publication. The NJP listing closes on 1 November 2026. Candidates should sign in with a PAK-ID verified NJP account, open the Consultant Transaction listing and complete the online application. The Commission will not accept postal applications, and incomplete applications will be rejected. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Interviews will be held in Islamabad only, and no travel or daily allowance will be paid. The advertisement does not mention an application fee. Questions can be sent to the Commission's HR email, or directed to the Deputy Director (Admin) at the Kohsar Block office of the Pakistan Secretariat in Islamabad.
