Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the country's only stock exchange with licensed brokerage firms operating from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, is looking for a Senior Manager or Assistant General Manager for its Market Operations Department. The position is based at the PSX Head Office in Karachi and supports the exchange's wider mission of running a fair, transparent and efficient marketplace that helps companies raise capital and serves investors, issuers and other stakeholders. The selected candidate will supervise market operations under the applicable rules, regulations and standard operating procedures, manage the day-to-day and periodic running of ancillary systems, and act as the main operational liaison for financial solutions and products offered by other self-regulatory organizations. The job also involves strengthening controls, simplifying rules, improving process efficiency and pushing automation, contributing to new products and reviewing rules against international best practice, proposing ways to increase liquidity and trading volumes in listed securities, rewriting and modernizing operational manuals and joint procedures for new digitized workflows, monitoring the collection of PSX fees, charges and taxes along with related bank, CDC and NCCPL systems, and building the capacity of the existing team. This is a single senior opening for an experienced capital-markets operations professional.

PSX prefers candidates with a graduate or post-graduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Management or another relevant discipline, and relevant training, knowledge and certifications will be treated as an added advantage. Applicants should have eight to ten years of experience handling operations, treasury, back-office or compliance matters at a financial institution, bank or a related firm. The exchange is looking for a strong understanding of how the securities market works and solid knowledge of operations management in areas such as securities markets, banking treasury and capital-markets back offices, or asset management company back offices. Leadership and people-management ability, good interpersonal, communication, drafting and presentation skills, sound analytical and problem-solving skills, strong command of MS Office, and the ability to handle daily pressure and tight deadlines are all listed as required skills. Key Responsibilities

Propose and implement measures to increase liquidity and trading volumes in listed securities. Review/ re-write and modernize operational manuals, system operating procedures, and joint procedures to reflect the new/ automated and digitized workflows, serving as a clear, future-proof knowledge base for the team. Monitoring the collection process of PSX fees, charges, taxes and Bank as well CDC and NCCPL systems. Capacity building of the existing team; Perform any other task assigned by HOD
