About This Job
The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has announced 32 vacancies for the post of Medical Officer (BPS-17), reserved for male candidates, under the Home Department, Government of Sindh. Published under Consolidated Advertisement No. 05/2026 dated 25 September 2026, this is one of the largest vacancy blocks in the current advertisement and offers a direct entry route into provincial government medical service for MBBS graduates who have completed their mandatory house job.
Applicants must hold an MBBS degree from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission, be registered with the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, and have completed one year of house job. The age limit for this post is 21 to 28 years, with general age relaxation admissible as per the Sindh Government's standard relaxation policy (not applicable to Police Service or Combined Competitive Examination posts). Of the 32 posts, 28 fall under open merit and are split between 17 rural-domicile and 11 urban-domicile Sindh seats, 2 are reserved under the differently-abled persons quota, and 2 are reserved under the minority quota, with the remaining seats split evenly between rural and urban domicile categories. As this vacancy block is designated for male candidates only, female applicants are not eligible against this particular post. Once exercised, a candidate's declared domicile, urban or rural quota, age, qualification, experience, and choice of examination centre cannot be changed at any subsequent stage after the closing date of the advertisement.
Interested and eligible male candidates must apply strictly online through the SPSC candidate portal at www.spsc.gov.pk, as the Commission has explicitly stated that manual applications will not be entertained for this recruitment. After registering on the portal, candidates should locate this post under the 'Available Jobs' feature, generate a PSID, and pay the Rs. 500 application fee through any online banking channel using the 1-Bill invoice/service option before the closing date of 23 October 2026. The online application feature remains available around the clock except on the closing date itself, when it closes at 5:00 PM. All required qualification, MBBS registration, and house-job completion documents must be held as of the closing date, and candidates already employed in government or semi-government departments must route their application through the proper channel. Candidates with disabilities needing special arrangements for any written test must notify the Commission's Controller of Examinations at least seven days in advance, following the documented procedure.
