Key Responsibilities

Technical expert in system administration for complex operating systems. Good understanding of global or multi-office network infrastructure. Design, install and configure internal, vendor and web facing applications. Administer and support core Microsoft, Linux, Unix, and VMware technologies. Proactively manage and maintain server and software systems. Helps develop, document, communicate, and enforce an infrastructure/design technology as per policy. Responsible for monitoring system performance, IT system operations and storage utilization. Plans for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support system growth. Manages user accounts and assets and assigns and updates security permissions on the servers according to security policy. Provides support with escalated help desk requests. Leads a team of systems administrators, coordinates with different departments. Mentors team members and educates users & interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required. Configure and manage physical volume, Logical volumes, and File systems. Managing Mid-range & Enterprise Storage Box (SAN) deployed like EMC Unity and Huawei Ocean Store Dorado 8000. Provisioning new volumes on different servers on the requirements of different departments and managing them. Manage and maintain the backup system and ensure backups run as per schedule and defined policy.
