About This Job

The Planning and Development Board, Government of Punjab, has announced 1 vacancy for Head of its newly established Climate Finance Unit (CFU), offering a salary of up to PKR 1,200,000 per month on a contract basis. This leadership post will steer the province's efforts to mobilize climate finance for development projects and build institutional capacity for climate-related investment.

Candidates must hold a Masters or Bachelors (Hons) degree comprising 16 years of education in Economics, Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Finance, Public Policy, Climate Finance, Sustainable Development, Sustainable Business or Green Finance/Investments, along with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience. The eligible age range is 35 to 50 years, Punjab domicile is required, and the post is open to both male and female candidates. Required expertise includes financial modeling and climate risk assessment, knowledge of climate finance mechanisms such as the Green Climate Fund, Global Environment Facility and Adaptation Fund, understanding of carbon markets and MRV systems, project development under international frameworks, and strong leadership and multi-stakeholder coordination abilities. Responsibilities include establishing the Climate Finance Unit, integrating climate finance into development programmes, supervising staff, developing bankable climate projects, overseeing the Provincial Carbon Market Framework, and coordinating with development partners.
