About This Job

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, functioning under the Ministry of Interior & Narcotics Control, has announced its largest current recruitment drive: 1,540 Constable posts in BPS-07 within the Law & Order wing, advertised alongside Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector vacancies in the same 2026 executive-staff notification. Open to both male and female Pakistani nationals, the constable seats are distributed across Open Merit and the full national regional-quota structure, covering Islamabad Capital Territory, Punjab, Sindh (rural and urban), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, the Newly Merged Districts/FATA, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, each carrying dedicated women and minority shares. Given its scale, this recruitment is one of the most significant federal law-enforcement hiring exercises of the year and offers entry-level, pensionable government employment with a defined promotion path.

Applicants must hold Matriculation or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Board and be aged 18 to 25 years, calculated as on the closing date of 2 September 2026, with no relaxation granted in age, height or chest measurement under any circumstance. Physical standards require a minimum height of 5 feet 7 inches for men and 5 feet 2 inches for women, a chest measurement of 33 to 34.5 inches for male candidates, and successful completion of an endurance run of one mile within seven minutes for men or ten minutes for women. Selection follows a staged process — physical/endurance test, then a written or computer-based test, and finally an interview before the Departmental Recruitment Board — with candidates required to clear each stage before proceeding to the next. At interview, candidates must produce original CNIC, academic certificates, domicile certificate and photographs, and minority-quota applicants must additionally submit a Deputy Commissioner-countersigned affidavit.

Eligible candidates must apply online only, through www.npftas.pk or www.islamabadpolice.gov.pk, within 15 days of the advertisement's publication on 19 August 2026; applications sent by hand, courier or any other non-portal channel will not be entertained. A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 2000 per post is payable via 1Link-1Bill using the 24-digit PSID generated on the portal, with a separate fee required for each additional post applied for, though the physical test is undertaken only once. Serving government employees must apply through the proper departmental channel, and every applicant must disclose any prior criminal-case involvement as part of the online submission. With over 1,500 vacancies on offer and a firm 2 September 2026 deadline, prospective candidates are strongly encouraged to apply well in advance, keep all required documents ready, and regularly check the portal for test-center allocation and further scheduling updates.
