About This Job

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, working under the Ministry of Interior & Narcotics Control, has announced 60 vacant posts of Sub-Inspector (SI) in BPS-14 within its Law & Order wing as part of a nationwide 2026 executive-staff recruitment drive. The intake is open to Pakistani national candidates of both genders, with seats distributed across Open Merit and the regional/provincial quotas for Islamabad Capital Territory, Punjab, Sindh (rural and urban), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Newly Merged Districts/FATA and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, along with dedicated women and minority shares within each region. This is one of the larger federal law-enforcement recruitment exercises currently open and offers a regular, pensionable career path within the capital's police force.

Candidates must hold a BA, B.Sc. or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university and fall within the 18-25 year age bracket, calculated as on the closing date of 2 September 2026; no age, height or chest relaxation is granted under any circumstance. Physical standards require a minimum height of 5 feet 7 inches for men and 5 feet 2 inches for women, a chest measurement of 33 to 34.5 inches for male candidates, and successful completion of an endurance run — one mile within seven minutes for men and ten minutes for women. Selection proceeds through sequential stages: the physical/endurance test, followed by a written or computer-based test, and finally an interview before the Departmental Recruitment Board, with only those clearing each stage advancing to the next. Original CNIC, academic certificates, domicile certificate and photographs must be produced at the interview stage, and minority-quota applicants additionally require an affidavit countersigned by the relevant Deputy Commissioner.

Interested and eligible candidates must apply exclusively online through www.npftas.pk or www.islamabadpolice.gov.pk within 15 days of the advertisement's publication on 19 August 2026; applications submitted by hand, courier, or through any other channel will not be entertained. A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 2000 per post is payable through the 1Link-1Bill service using the 24-digit PSID generated on the portal, and candidates applying for more than one post must pay separately for each, though the physical test needs to be passed only once. Serving government employees must apply through the proper departmental channel, and all applicants must disclose any past criminal case involvement as part of the online submission. Given the scale of this recruitment and the firm 2 September 2026 deadline, prospective candidates are encouraged to complete their online application well ahead of time and monitor the portal for test-center allocation and further scheduling updates.
