The Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination is hiring an IT and Data Specialist (PPS-10) under its PSDP-funded project 'Strengthening Technical Capacities of Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination' (STC-MoCC&EC). Advertised under file reference F.No. 6(1)/2025-Recruitment/STC, the position is offered on a contract basis for two years, extendable by one further year on satisfactory performance or until the project concludes, whichever comes first, and is based at the Ministry's LG&RD Complex office in Sector G-5/2, Islamabad.

Candidates should have 16 years of education in IT, Computer Science or Software Engineering, together with at least eight years of post-qualification experience in IT operations, cybersecurity, database management, and digital systems. The Ministry is looking for someone with strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments, programming skills in Python, Java or PHP, web and software development experience, familiarity with networking concepts such as LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers and switches, and practical experience with MS Office, antivirus tools and backup solutions. Day-to-day duties span leading the development of a Ministry-wide climate data repository, managing and maintaining the Ministry's IT infrastructure and digital solutions, overseeing IT procurement and licensing, setting up and maintaining local servers and network policies, and upgrading and maintaining the Ministry's website and e-office systems including official email and task-monitoring tools.

The maximum age is 52 years, which already factors in the standard five-year government age relaxation, so no further relaxation will be granted, and a foreign degree must be accompanied by an HEC equivalence certificate. Qualification Required

Key Responsibilities

Initiate and lead development of a data repository for the Ministry, providing technical leadership to enhance climate-related data management, policy implementation and environmental monitoring. Manage and maintain the Ministry's IT infrastructure, systems and digital solutions, including IT inventory, procurement and software/hardware licensing. Establish and maintain local server setup including network policies (passwords, drivers etc). Upgrade and maintain the MoCC&EC website and upload project reports, maps and promotional material. Activate, upgrade and maintain e-office, official emails and task monitor systems. Provide high-quality advisory and implementation support toward the project's e-Governance objectives, and perform any other task assigned by management.
