Special Branch, Punjab Police Department

About This Job
The Punjab Public Service Commission is recruiting 30 Intelligence Officers, BS-14, for the Special Branch of the Punjab Police Department under Advertisement No. 11/2026, dated 9 October 2026. Of the 30 posts, one is reserved for a special person, one for the minority quota and five for the women's quota, with the remainder on open merit; the engagement is a two-year contract, extendable, with duty anywhere in Punjab. This case is one of 13 posts spread across six Punjab Government departments carried in the same advertisement, which was published in national newspapers on 9 October 2026 at LDA Plaza, 7-Edgerton Road, Lahore, under the signature of the PPSC Secretary.
Candidates need a second-division graduation degree from an HEC-recognized university along with basic computer knowledge, or alternatively a second-division graduation degree plus five years' experience in the Intelligence Wing of a law enforcing agency, with only post-qualification practical experience counted. The post is open to male, female and transgender candidates domiciled anywhere in Punjab, aged 21 to 35 years, relaxable to 40 for men and 43 for women. Shortlisted applicants sit a 100-mark MCQ written test weighted roughly 80% on general ability subjects (general knowledge, Pakistan Studies, current affairs, Islamic Studies, geography, basic mathematics, English, Urdu and everyday science) and 20% on basic computer studies. Candidates who believe a foreign or otherwise non-standard qualification is equivalent to the one prescribed above must submit an equivalence certificate issued by the Higher Education Commission or the concerned department's Qualification Equivalence Determination Committee at the time of interview, failing which their candidature is liable to cancellation; marks or percentage certificates for every degree must also be produced, as CGPA alone is not accepted. Any experience claimed in a private firm or entity must be supported at interview with proof that the organisation was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the Registrar of Firms, or another relevant regulatory authority throughout the claimed period, failing which the application is liable to rejection.
Applications must be submitted online only via www.ppsc.gop.pk with the Rs. 600 fee paid through an approved channel, by the closing date of 26 October 2026. In-service candidates should secure their department's NOC in advance, and the full advertisement sets out complete eligibility conditions. Candidates should note that no fresh applications will be invited even if the concerned department later increases or decreases the number of advertised posts, and that test schedules, syllabi and all related notices are issued solely on the official PPSC website — information shared through any other source, including social media or private coaching pages, should not be trusted. Federal, semi-government, autonomous-body and local-body employees are reminded they are not entitled to age relaxation for their period of such service when applying against this advertisement.
