About This Job

The Centre for Applied Molecular Biology (CAMB) of the University of the Punjab, Lahore, has announced three vacancies for Chowkidar. The centre is the university's research institute for molecular biology and biotechnology, located on West Canal Bank Road near Thokar Niaz Baig. The posts are purely on a daily wages, contingent basis for 89 days, with wages paid from self-supporting, departmental or contingent paid staff funds. They are governed by the Punjab Government's policy framework for work-charged employees, daily wagers and contingent paid staff. The same advertisement also includes one Attendant post at the centre. These are short engagements with no right to regularisation, but they offer steady work guarding a busy research campus in Lahore. CAMB houses laboratories, expensive scientific equipment and a large number of students and researchers, so chowkidars play an important part in keeping its gates, buildings and grounds secure, including during evening and night shifts as assigned by the centre's administration.

The minimum qualification for a Chowkidar is Middle. Applicants must be Pakistani nationals, the posts are open to both men and women, and the notice gives no domicile restriction. Age, qualification, experience and all other credentials must be complete on or before the closing date, and an application will not be considered if the candidate's result has not been officially declared by then. The university will observe government quotas as per policy and suitability, will prefer higher qualifications or experience, and will call only shortlisted candidates for test or interview, with no TA/DA paid. Any government employee must include a departmental permission certificate or NOC with the hard copy. Applications with false information or incomplete documents will be rejected without any reason being given.

Candidates must apply online only, through the university's non-teaching portal at http://111.68.103.6/nonteaching. The portal accepts applications for these posts from 12 to 19 October 2026 and closes at 4:00 PM on the last day. The fee shown in the advertisement for these posts is Rs. 0, paid through the challan generated online. After submitting online, applicants must send a signed hard copy of the application with an updated CV, attested copies of degrees, certificates, CNIC, testimonials and experience certificates, and a recent 1x1 photograph to the CAMB office at 87-West Canal Bank Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore, by registered post or courier before the closing date. Applications will not be accepted by hand, and no extra time is given for postal delays.
