Cook (VC Office, PU)
Office of the Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab

About This Job
The University of the Punjab, Lahore, is hiring one Cook for the office of its Vice Chancellor under Advertisement No. 14/2026. The same notice also covers a Driver and a female Mali for that office. This is a daily wages, contingent paid staff post for a period of 89 days, paid from the university's self-supporting, departmental or contingent paid staff budget. It is governed by the Government of the Punjab's policy framework for work-charged employees, daily wagers and contingent paid staff, and the university has notified this framework for its own use. The job is short term and does not give any right to regular appointment, but it offers a cook a respected place to work in the university's central administration on the Quaid-i-Azam Campus. The Vice Chancellor's office regularly hosts meetings, official guests and university events, so the cook will prepare meals and refreshments for these occasions. Cooks who have worked in offices, hostels, hotels or households and can keep a clean, organised kitchen should consider applying.
The only qualification the advertisement asks for is that the candidate be literate. The post is open to Pakistani nationals of either gender, and the notice gives no domicile condition, so applicants from any province can apply. Every eligibility condition must be met by the closing date, and an application will be refused if the candidate's examination result has not been officially announced by then. The university will observe government quotas, may prefer candidates with higher qualifications or more experience, and will call only shortlisted applicants for interview. No travel or daily allowance is paid for attending. Government employees must include a departmental NOC with their hard copy, and an application found to contain false information can be cancelled at any stage.
Applications must be made online through http://111.68.103.6/nonteaching between 7 and 21 October 2026, and the portal closes at 4:00 pm on the final day. Applicants must deposit a processing fee of Rs. 300 at any HBL or UBL branch using the online-generated challan. After applying online, candidates must send one signed hard copy of the form, with an updated CV, attested copies of degrees, certificates and CNIC, a 1x1 photograph and the original fee receipt, by registered post or courier to the Registrar's office (Administration Branch-II, Admin Block, Room 33), Quaid-i-Azam Campus, Lahore. Applications are not accepted by hand, and late ones will not be considered, so interested cooks should apply and post their documents well before 21 October 2026.
