Office of the Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab

About This Job
The University of the Punjab, Lahore, the oldest and one of the largest public sector universities in Pakistan, has announced a vacancy for a Driver in the office of its Vice Chancellor under Advertisement No. 14/2026. A single post is on offer, and it is part of a small three-post notice that also covers a female Mali and a Cook for the same office. The engagement is on a daily wages or contingent paid staff basis for a period of 89 days, paid out of the university's self-supporting, departmental or contingent paid staff budget, and it is governed by the Punjab Government's policy framework for work-charged employees, daily wagers and contingent paid staff. For experienced drivers in and around Lahore, this is a chance to work at the heart of the university's administration on the Quaid-i-Azam Campus, even though the role is short term and does not lead to regular appointment.
Applicants should have passed Middle, and the university says candidates with Matric will be preferred. They must also hold both an LTV and an HTV licence, because the job covers vans, cars and similar university vehicles. The advertisement is open to Pakistani nationals of either gender, and it gives no separate domicile restriction, so candidates from anywhere in the country can apply if they meet the criteria. All qualifications and credentials must be complete by the closing date, and an application will not be considered if the candidate's result has not been officially announced by then. Government quotas apply according to policy, higher qualifications or extra experience count in a candidate's favour, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview, with no TA/DA paid. Serving government employees must attach a departmental permission certificate or NOC, or the application will be rejected.
Applications are accepted online only, through the university's non-teaching recruitment portal at http://111.68.103.6/nonteaching, between 7 and 21 October 2026, and the portal closes at 4:00 pm on the last day. Each applicant must pay a processing fee of Rs. 300 per post through the online-generated challan at any HBL or UBL branch. After submitting online, candidates must post or courier a signed hard copy of the form with their CV, attested documents, photograph and the original fee receipt to the Registrar's office (Administration Branch-II, Admin Block, Room 33) on the Quaid-i-Azam Campus before the deadline. Hand-delivered or late applications will not be accepted, so interested drivers should apply early and send their documents well before 21 October 2026.
