The University of the Punjab has invited applications for a Visiting Faculty position at the Department of Gender Studies, Lahore, to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses on a semester-wise contractual basis. The posting was found on the university's official careers portal (pu.edu.pk/careers) and forms part of Punjab University's ongoing visiting-faculty recruitment across its teaching departments, intended to supplement the department's regular faculty strength for the current academic session.
Eligible candidates should hold a PhD in Gender Studies, or as a minimum a First Class Master's/MS/MPhil (18 years of education) in Gender Studies or a closely allied social science discipline from an HEC-recognized university, meeting HEC's minimum qualification bar for visiting faculty appointments; relevant prior teaching experience is preferred though not stated as an absolute requirement. The position is open to both male and female applicants of any domicile within Pakistan, and the advertisement does not mention a minimum or maximum age limit, nor any reserved quota for women, minorities or persons with disabilities, since visiting faculty engagements are contractual and fall outside the regular BPS recruitment quota framework.
Interested candidates must apply strictly online through the University of the Punjab's dedicated jobs portal at jobs.pu.edu.pk (applications submitted by any other means will not be accepted), completing every field of the web-based form and depositing the prescribed non-refundable processing fee via an online-generated bank challan at any HBL or UBL branch. A signed hard copy of the completed online application, together with an updated CV and attested copies of degrees, certificates and testimonials plus a passport-size photograph, must reach the Registrar's office at the Quaid-i-Azam Campus, Lahore, by registered post or courier before the closing date of August 5, 2026, the same day this posting was identified; candidates already serving in government departments must route their application through proper channel with a Departmental Permission Certificate/NOC. Queries can be directed to puhr@pu.edu.pk or dra2hr@pu.edu.pk.
