The Punjab Resource Management & Policy Unit (PRMPU), functioning under the Planning & Development Board, Government of the Punjab, has announced one vacancy for the position of Senior Economist under the "Transformation of Punjab Resource Management & Policy Unit (TPRMPU)" project. Advertised on 4 August 2026, the post falls within the project's Strategic Planning Unit (SPU) and carries the project pay scale PPS-11. TPRMPU is a specialized reform initiative set up to strengthen public investment planning, sector strategy, and public-sector governance capacity across the Government of the Punjab, and the Senior Economist will work at the Unit's Lahore office alongside a small multidisciplinary team of specialists recruited on contract.

Candidates must hold sixteen years of education in Economics, Development Economics, or a closely related discipline from a university duly recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, with a PhD preferred though not mandatory. A minimum of twelve years of documented, post-qualification experience in policy formulation, policy analysis, sector planning, economic and financial appraisal, and economic modeling is required, along with demonstrated experience working in or with government or public-sector organizations. Core competencies sought include policy formulation and analysis, sector planning, economic modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and data interpretation. As Senior Economist, the selected candidate will lead policy formulation and sector-plan reviews, conduct economic appraisals and feasibility studies including demand-supply and cost-benefit analysis, and advise on strategies to improve the long-term financial sustainability of public investments.
