The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has announced 3 vacancies for the post of Security Officer in BPS-16, to be filled on a regular basis under the Director (Recruitment), WAPDA, headquartered at WAPDA House, Lahore. This recruitment is part of WAPDA's long-standing practice of strengthening its in-house Security Wing by inducting retired military personnel who bring institutional discipline, chain-of-command experience, and field training in security operations. As one of Pakistan's largest public-sector utilities, responsible for guarding dams, power stations, and administrative complexes across the country, WAPDA regularly draws on the armed forces' veteran pool to staff supervisory security roles such as this one. The post carries an initial one-year probationary period before confirmation, and selected officers will be expected to help oversee security arrangements at WAPDA installations nationwide.

Eligibility is restricted to retired Armed Forces Junior Commissioned Officers of the rank of Honorary Subedar or Subedar, or an equivalent rank from the Navy or Air Force, who have passed their Secondary School Certificate examination with at least a 'C' grade or second division, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or board. Candidates who retired as Subedar Major or an equivalent higher rank are also eligible, subject to a slightly relaxed maximum age ceiling of 52 years, compared to 50 years for those who retired as Subedar; age in both cases is calculated as on the closing date, with no relaxation permitted beyond these limits. The post is advertised on an Open Merit basis with no domicile restriction, and preference will be given to candidates who hold an intelligence-related qualification and have 2 to 3 years of field or staff experience specifically in security duty. Only candidates certified medically and physically fit will be considered further in the process, and original documents must be produced at the time of interview.

The signed application form, along with attested copies of educational certificates, domicile certificate, CNIC, and experience certificates, plus two passport-size photographs, must reach the CTS office at 414, F2, Jeff Heights, Main Boulevard, Gulberg-III, Lahore, by post or courier before the closing date of 18 September 2026; hand-delivered or late applications will not be entertained. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the test and interview, with no TA/DA admissible, so eligible retired officers should prepare their documents and apply promptly.
