Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Karachi, the large public sector medical university of Sindh, has advertised a faculty vacancy for Professor of Obstetric & Gynaecology under its Clinical Medical Sciences teaching staff. The post is in BPS-21 and is offered on a contract basis, as part of the university's latest career opportunities announcement, which also covers senior posts in basic medical, clinical medical and clinical dental sciences and at the Institute of Business and Health Management. DUHS runs several medical, dental and allied health institutes and teaching hospitals in Karachi, so a faculty appointment here combines teaching, research and, for clinical posts, patient care. The advertisement is restricted to candidates holding a Sindh domicile, so applicants from other provinces cannot be considered.

On qualifications, the advertisement requires the following: MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications recognized/registered by the HEC/PMC with recognized F.C.P.S. or another level III Qualification in the respective subject. The experience condition reads: Three years of teaching experience (Post Terminal Qualification) as an Associate Professor in the respective subject is essential provided that total experience as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor is not less than 8 years. OR Ten years of teaching experience (Post Terminal Qualification) as an Assistant Professor in the respective subject. In addition, the research record must meet this standard: A total of Fifteen (15) research publications on relevant subjects, of which five (05) should be during the last five years. The upper age limit for this post is 50 years, and any age relaxation is subject to the approval of the Scrutiny Committee or Selection Board. The university says it will prefer candidates who have relevant international qualifications. Applicants already serving in government or public sector higher education institutions must apply through proper channel and include a copy of their NOC. If a large number of candidates apply, DUHS will hold a pre-interview MCQ test to shortlist them, and only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview.

Applying is a two-step process. First, candidates must fill out the online application form on the DUHS website, because applications without the online form will not be accepted. They must then send a hard copy in a sealed envelope containing one photograph, a set of attested photocopies of qualification and experience documents, domicile and CNIC, two current referral letters and a brief CV, with the name of the post and specialty written on the top right of the envelope. Every application needs a non-refundable pay order of Rs.1,500 in favour of Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi. The envelope must go only by courier to the Director Human Resources, Human Resource Directorate, Admin Block, 4th Floor, Baba-e-Urdu Road, Karachi, and applications delivered in person will be refused. Only applications received on or before 19 October 2026 will be considered, incomplete applications will be ignored, no TA/DA is payable, and any false or misleading document will lead to disqualification or removal from service. Eligible candidates should complete the online form and dispatch their courier early so it arrives before the deadline.
