Of the twenty-three seats, thirteen belong to the rural quota and ten to the urban quota; within these, nine rural and nine urban seats are on open merit, three are reserved for women (two rural, one urban), one rural seat is for a minority candidate and one rural seat is for a person with a disability. Candidates must already have passed the STS General Screening Test in the graduation category with at least 40 percent marks and hold the STS certificate, since that score is the basis for shortlisting.
