About This Job
Global Investment Gateway of Punjab (GIGP), the Government of the Punjab's dedicated investment-facilitation platform, has advertised one contract-based vacancy for Director, Investment Promotion / Global Regions. This Directorship is responsible for GIGP's outward-facing investment attraction effort across five macro-regions - North America, Europe, MENA, East Asia & ASEAN, and South Asia & Africa - and will lead and performance-manage the Regional Managers assigned to each. The role requires building region-specific investment attraction strategies grounded in each market's capital flows, sector strengths and regulatory norms rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, maintaining investor pipelines through Pakistan's missions abroad and foreign embassies in Islamabad, and coordinating formally with federal bodies such as SIFC, BOI, MoFA and TDAP so that GIGP's regional outreach complements rather than duplicates national investment-promotion efforts. The Director will also be responsible for architecting a diaspora engagement strategy targeting high-net-worth Pakistani communities in the Gulf, North America and the UK, and for owning GIGP's regional deal-flow reporting and pipeline management. The role additionally requires building regional advisory boards of diaspora leaders and former ambassadors, producing regional competitive-intelligence assessments benchmarking Punjab against rival FDI destinations, and presenting quarterly regional performance reviews to the Secretary GIGP with corrective action plans for underperforming regions.
Eligible candidates should hold a Master's degree (16 years of education) in Finance, International Business, Economics, or Business Administration (MBA) from an HEC-recognized institution, with preference given to graduates of globally recognized universities, along with a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in international business development, fund raising, private equity, and/or investment attraction spanning multiple markets. The advertisement notes that preference will additionally be given to applicants with foreign language proficiency in Arabic and Chinese, reflecting the priority regions this Directorate covers. The post is open to both men and women aged 40 to 55, is offered on a contract basis, and requires a Punjab domicile.
Interested candidates can apply online through the official Punjab Job Portal at jobs.punjab.gov.pk before the closing date of 20 September 2026; no application fee is stated on the advertisement, and GIGP has indicated a lump-sum pay package commensurate with the selected candidate's qualification and experience. Candidates who do not already hold a Punjab domicile can obtain one through the Government of Punjab's Dastak doorstep-delivery initiative, reachable via helpline 1202 or the Dastak mobile app and web portal, ahead of applying. Given the international scope and seniority of this role within Punjab's investment-promotion apparatus, prospective applicants are advised to review the full advertisement carefully and ensure their application reaches the portal ahead of the deadline.
