Habib Bank Limited (HBL) has advertised a vacancy for the position of Delivery Manager - Payments, based at Habib Bank Plaza in Karachi within the bank's Core Banking Transformation programme. The role blends conventional project and programme management with deep domain knowledge of core-banking migration, and the successful candidate will own a designated "delivery bucket" covering the bank's payments workstream — building the work-breakdown structure, coordinating with engineering, enterprise-architecture, infrastructure and vendor teams, and driving end-to-end delivery of milestones. On the payments side specifically, the role involves analyzing and redesigning end-to-end processes spanning domestic transfers, real-time payments, interbank fund transfers, ACH, cross-border and SWIFT payments, bulk and corporate payments, and standing instructions, while working with solution architects to design payment flows, integrations with the core banking system, digital channels, switches and clearing houses, and validating reconciliation and exception-handling workflows.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field, and a PMP or equivalent project/delivery-management certification is considered desirable though not compulsory. The advertisement asks for an overall seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in banking, project management or technology management at a leading bank or financial institution, reflecting the seniority and cross-functional scope of the role, which also carries meaningful risk-management and stakeholder-management responsibilities across the transformation programme.
Interested candidates should apply online through HBL's official careers portal at HBL People (hblpeople.com), linking through to the bank's Oracle-hosted recruitment platform; no postal, email or walk-in application route is mentioned. The vacancy was posted on 18 September 2026 and will remain open for applications until 3 October 2026, after which shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly by HBL's HR team.
