KPITB is hiring an individual consultant for the senior role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) under the KP AI Innovation Hub project, to set enterprise-wide security strategy and governance for the Board's IT infrastructure, AI systems and provincial data assets. As the most senior security role on the project, the CISO will lead security governance, risk management and regulatory compliance at an organizational level, manage security teams and budgets, engage with senior leadership on risk matters, and oversee incident response at enterprise scale. The role sits above the day-to-day Security Operations Center function and is expected to shape KPITB's overall security posture, policy framework and compliance status across all monitored systems, networks and AI/data platforms under the Innovation Hub initiative, while also ensuring the Board's practices keep pace with applicable national cybersecurity regulations and evolving best practice as the AI Innovation Hub scales up.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's or, preferably given the seniority of the position, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field from an HEC-recognized university. A minimum of 10 to 15 years of overall professional experience is required, including at least 5 to 7 years in a senior information security leadership role such as CISO or Head of Security, with demonstrated experience in enterprise security governance, risk management and regulatory compliance; public-sector or critical-infrastructure leadership experience is strongly preferred. Applicants should be able to show a track record of setting security strategy at organizational level, managing security teams and budgets, and briefing senior leadership or boards on risk. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CRISC are preferred, and familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST CSF or COBIT frameworks is considered an advantage. The CISO will also directly oversee the Security Operations Center Expert and coordinate closely with the Data Governance Specialist so that incident-response protocols align with the provincial data-breach notification and escalation requirements as the AI Innovation Hub's footprint grows.

This is a single-post consultancy for an initial six months to one year, extendable subject to satisfactory performance and available budget, reporting directly to the Managing Director of KPITB from a Peshawar duty station. Qualification Required
