KPITB is engaging an individual consultant as Data Science Architect on scale MBS III to design the overall technical architecture behind the province's data-science and machine-learning systems, reporting to the Managing Director of KPITB or the assigned Project Lead from a Peshawar duty station. The Data Science Architect sits above the Senior Data Scientist, Data Engineer and Data Analyst in the project's reporting structure, architecting production-grade data science and machine learning systems, evaluating and selecting MLOps tooling, and leading the technical team responsible for turning analytical prototypes into systems departments can actually rely on day to day. The role also involves working across complex, multi-stakeholder government environments where technical decisions must account for departmental constraints, data-sharing agreements and long-term maintainability, not just model accuracy in isolation. The Architect is also expected to set coding and design standards for the data-science team, review major technical proposals before they go to senior management, and make the final call on trade-offs between speed of delivery and long-term system robustness.

Candidates need sixteen years of education with a degree in Information and Communication Technology or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university, with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or Statistics preferred given the technical depth the role demands. A minimum of seven years of professional experience is required, including at least three years in data-based product design, data-science architecture, machine-learning system design, or applied machine learning deployed at scale. Applicants should be able to point to real systems they have architected end to end, not just models built in a notebook, and should have led technical teams through the process of evaluating and implementing MLOps tooling in a live environment; public-sector or large-enterprise architecture experience is preferred. Comfort presenting technical trade-offs to non-technical senior officials, in plain language rather than jargon, is treated as just as important as the underlying technical skill itself for this particular assignment.

This is a single-post consultancy for an initial six months, extendable subject to satisfactory performance and available budget, paid as a monthly lump sum with no application fee stated.
