KPITB is engaging an individual consultant as a Data Security Analyst on scale MBS IV to protect the province's data assets as part of its wider data governance push, reporting to the Data Governance Specialist from a Peshawar duty station. The Analyst will handle access management, continuous security monitoring and vulnerability assessment across KPITB's data platforms, working knowledge of database and application security, encryption and key management, and hands-on use of security tooling such as SIEM, DLP and vulnerability scanners. Incident handling is a core part of the role: the Analyst will detect, investigate and help remediate security events touching provincial data holdings, applying data protection principles drawn from ISO 27001, NIST CSF and OWASP guidance, and working alongside the broader KPITB security and data-governance teams to keep sensitive government datasets properly protected as new digital systems come online. The Analyst will also carry out periodic security log reviews, support routine audits, and recommend concrete fixes whenever monitoring turns up a weakness in how a system handles or stores sensitive citizen or departmental data.

The role requires sixteen years of education with a degree in Information and Communication Technology or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university, with a specialization in Information Security or Cyber Security preferred. Candidates need a minimum of five years of professional experience, including at least two years specifically in data security or information security work, and should be able to demonstrate real exposure to access-control systems, database and application hardening, and vulnerability remediation cycles. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or CompTIA Security+ are preferred, and familiarity with data-protection principles and common compliance frameworks will strengthen an application, since the Analyst is expected to help align KPITB's practices with recognized security standards from day one. Prior experience working within a government or regulated-sector security team, where formal audit trails and sign-offs matter as much as the technical fix itself, will also be viewed favourably.

This is a single-vacancy consultancy for an initial six months, extendable subject to satisfactory performance and available budget, paid as a monthly lump sum under standard government consultancy terms.
