Full Stack Developer (Laravel)

KPITB is looking to engage an individual consultant as a Full Stack Developer specializing in the Laravel framework for its ICT Project, with the assignment based in Peshawar. The consultant will design, build and maintain high-transaction Laravel web applications capable of processing large daily volumes using queues, event listeners and task scheduling, while also developing responsive front-end interfaces with modern JavaScript frameworks or Blade templating. A major part of the role involves building and securing scalable RESTful APIs for internal and third-party integrations, including payment gateways, applying OAuth2 and JWT-based security controls, and tuning both relational and NoSQL databases for performance under heavy load. The consultant will also manage Linux server environments, configure web servers and SSL/TLS certificates, and automate deployments through CI/CD pipelines and containerization, hardening every layer against common vulnerabilities identified in the OWASP Top 10. Ongoing responsibilities also include periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments, coordinating with security teams or external auditors on penetration testing, and preparing technical documentation covering API contracts, system architecture and deployment procedures so that departmental teams can maintain the platform after handover.

Applicants need sixteen years of education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field from an HEC-recognized institution, together with at least seven years of hands-on experience building and operating production Laravel applications. Strong, demonstrable command of PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript is expected, alongside real experience in RESTful API design, MySQL or PostgreSQL query optimization, and Linux server administration using Nginx or Apache. Git-based version control discipline, adherence to PSR coding standards, and the ability to write clear technical documentation covering APIs and deployment procedures round out the profile KPITB is seeking for this role, alongside comfort using project-tracking tools such as Jira, Trello or Asana to keep deliverables and timelines visible to the wider ICT Project team.

The engagement is for one vacancy on a contract basis, running an initial six months and extendable subject to satisfactory performance and available budget, with the consultant reporting to the Director Technical at KPITB from a Peshawar duty station. Qualification Required
