KPITB is engaging an individual consultant as a Security Operations Center (SOC) Expert under the KP AI Innovation Hub project, to provide continuous security monitoring, threat detection and incident-response leadership for KPITB's IT infrastructure, AI Innovation Hub systems and provincial data assets. The role involves designing and operationalizing SOC capabilities from the ground up, including monitoring tools, detection use cases and response playbooks, and leading the triage, investigation, containment and recovery of security incidents affecting government systems, networks and AI or data platforms. The SOC Expert will supervise SOC analysts, outsourced managed security service providers and monitoring tools, conduct vulnerability assessments and periodic threat-hunting exercises, and continuously tune SIEM correlation rules and threat-intelligence feeds to reduce false positives while improving detection coverage across departmental infrastructure. The consultant is also expected to develop and test incident response playbooks and escalation matrices, review network segmentation and access-control hardening measures, and support procurement planning and vendor evaluation for SOC tooling and managed security services.

The position calls for a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field from an HEC-recognized university, together with 5 to 8 years of professional experience in security operations, threat monitoring, incident response or enterprise cybersecurity, ideally with prior public-sector or critical-infrastructure exposure. Candidates should be able to demonstrate real, hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, EDR/XDR tools, threat intelligence integration and vulnerability management in a live operational environment, and hold or be working toward certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCFA, or CompTIA Security+/CySA+. The SOC Expert will work closely with the Data Governance Specialist and Data Science Architect to keep AI and data platforms securely configured and monitored, and will prepare post-incident reports and key SOC performance metrics for senior management, and should be comfortable supervising outsourced monitoring vendors and guiding junior SOC analysts on a day-to-day basis.

Qualification Required
