KPITB is looking for an individual consultant to serve as Senior Data Scientist on scale MBS III, applying statistical modelling and machine learning to large administrative datasets in support of provincial policy and service delivery, and reporting to the Data Science Architect from a Peshawar duty station. The Senior Data Scientist will design experiments, build and validate predictive models, and turn government data into decision-ready analysis, using visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau to communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders. The role sits at the analytical core of KPITB's data initiatives, translating raw departmental data into insights that can genuinely inform policy choices, resource allocation and service improvements across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, working closely with the Data Engineer and Data Analyst on the same project to keep the underlying data pipeline feeding clean, reliable inputs into every model the Senior Data Scientist builds. Where a model is destined for real departmental use rather than a one-off report, the Senior Data Scientist is also expected to define how its ongoing accuracy will be monitored and revalidated over time.

Candidates should have sixteen years of education with a degree in Information and Communication Technology or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university, with a postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Statistics or a related field preferred given the seniority of the position. A minimum of seven years of professional experience is required, including at least two years specifically in data science, machine learning or advanced analytics work. Strong, demonstrable proficiency in Python or R, SQL and standard machine-learning libraries is expected, together with real experience in statistical modelling, experimental design and model validation. Prior work with public-sector, development-sector or large administrative datasets is preferred, since much of the value here comes from understanding the quirks of government data, from inconsistent naming conventions to incomplete historical records.

This is a single-vacancy consultancy for an initial six months, extendable subject to satisfactory performance and available budget, paid as a monthly lump sum with no application fee charged.
