The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has advertised the senior position of Head of Internal Audit on a contractual basis at its headquarters in Islamabad. This is a single leadership role responsible for running NADRA's internal audit function and giving independent, objective assurance on governance, risk management, internal controls, compliance and operational effectiveness. The person selected will develop and carry out a risk-based annual audit plan in line with international and national standards, lead financial, operational, IT, forensic, performance and compliance audits across all NADRA offices, check compliance with government rules, the Public Procurement Rules and internal SOPs, and prepare high-quality audit reports for management and the Audit Committee. The role also covers evaluating internal control systems, supporting the development of control frameworks and SOPs, building audit capability in IT audit, forensics and process automation, protecting the independence of the audit function and coordinating with external auditors, regulators and oversight bodies.

Candidates must be Chartered Accountants (ICAP or ICAEW), ACCA or ACMA, or hold a Master's degree in finance, accounting or a related field from an HEC-recognised university, with degrees attested by HEC. The advertisement requires at least 15 years of progressive experience in internal audit, risk management, governance, compliance or financial controls, including at least five years in a senior internal audit leadership position, and proven experience leading internal audit functions in large public-sector, corporate, financial or technology-driven organisations. Applicants should have a strong grasp of the International Professional Practices Framework, internal auditing standards, the COSO internal control framework, enterprise risk management and corporate governance, as well as experience reporting to board-level committees or executive management. Certifications such as CISA or CIA will be preferred, and experience with AI-enabled auditing, digital audit tools and data analytics is an added advantage. NADRA also looks for deep knowledge of government rules and procurement laws, high integrity, sound judgement, excellent report writing and stakeholder management, and experience managing multidisciplinary audit teams. The maximum age is 55 years, with a five-year general relaxation already included, and females, minorities, transgender persons and differently-abled candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualification Required

Key Responsibilities
