About This Job

The National Telecommunication and Information Security Board (NTISB), a federal government body responsible for safeguarding Pakistan's information and communication infrastructure, has announced a contract-basis vacancy for the post of Director FCERT (PPS-11) based in Islamabad. This is a senior leadership role within NTISB's cyber-security wing, with a single vacancy open to eligible candidates on merit. The Director FCERT will be responsible for steering the organization's federal computer emergency response function, coordinating cyber incident handling across ministries, and shaping national-level information security policy. As one of NTISB's most senior technical postings currently advertised on the National Jobs Portal, this position carries considerable responsibility for protecting government digital assets against emerging threats.

Applicants must hold at least 16 years of education with a major in Computer Science, Telecommunication, or a closely related engineering discipline, with degrees such as BSCS, MS Computer Science, or a PhD in a relevant field considered acceptable. An international certification in cyber security management, such as CISM or CISSP, is strongly preferred and will strengthen an application. On the experience side, candidates need a minimum of 15 years of overall professional experience, including at least 5 years specifically in information or cyber security, plus a minimum of 3 years working on PSDP-funded projects in information security at the federal or provincial government level. Demonstrated expertise in drafting or shaping information security policy at a national or provincial scale, along with a solid grasp of how Federal Government ministries operate and are governed, is essential. The age bracket for this post is 37 to 55 years, and applicants should note that the standard five-year general age relaxation has already been factored into the upper limit, so no further relaxation will be granted.

Interested and eligible candidates must apply strictly through the National Jobs Portal (njp.gov.pk) by logging in with a PAK-ID verified account, or creating one if they don't already have it, completing the online application form, and uploading their CV along with educational and experience certificates. There is no application fee mentioned for this post. The application window closes on 12 October 2026, so candidates who meet the qualification and experience criteria are encouraged to prepare their documents and apply well before the deadline. Given the seniority of the role and its direct bearing on Pakistan's cyber defence capability, candidates with a strong federal-government project background and recognized security certifications will be particularly well placed to compete for this position.
