About This Job
The Criminal Prosecution Services Department of the Government of Sindh, through the office of the Prosecutor General Sindh, has announced a walk-in interview drive for 14 posts of Chowkidar in BPS-01. Of these, 2 are in the Prosecutor General's head office in Karachi, located in the Administration Block of the High Court of Sindh, and 12 are in the offices of District Public Prosecutors in East, West, Malir, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Thatta, Matiari, Sanghar, Khairpur, Larkana, Shikarpur, Sujawal. The Chowkidar is expected to guard the office premises and keep watch over government property, particularly outside working hours. The advertisement, published on the Sindh government portal in October 2026, is one of the largest support-staff recruitments of the year in Sindh, covering six categories of posts and more than 230 vacancies in the head office alone, and it is particularly relevant for candidates with limited formal education who are looking for a permanent provincial government job.
For this post the advertisement asks for preferably basic literacy, with no formal academic qualification made mandatory. All applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age, with upper age relaxation allowed under government policy. Domicile rules differ by office: head office posts are open to candidates holding a Sindh domicile or PRC, divided 60 percent rural and 40 percent urban, while district office posts require a domicile or PRC of that particular district. Five percent quotas are reserved each for minorities, women and persons with disabilities. Candidates who are already in government employment can apply, but only through proper channel. There is no written test or application fee mentioned in the advertisement; selection depends on the walk-in interview, and the department notes that no travel or daily allowance will be paid for attending it. The department has also reserved the right to reject any application or change the number of vacancies without giving reasons.
There is no online form for this recruitment. Candidates must bring a written application along with attested copies of their documents to the interview on the day fixed for their district, and anyone applying for more than one post needs a separate application for each. Head office interviews are held at the Prosecutor General Sindh office on the 4th floor of the Administration Block, High Court of Sindh, Karachi, from 19 to 24 October 2026, with Karachi's five districts on the first day and the remaining districts grouped over the following days. Interviews for district office posts take place at each District Public Prosecutor's office between 26 and 31 October 2026, the last day covering Kashmore, Khairpur, Sanghar and Matiari. Selected and rejected candidates will be informed by an official telephone call within fifteen days of their interview, so a working phone number on the application is essential. Interested candidates should check their district's date carefully and arrive with complete documents.
