About This Job
The Punjab Public Service Commission is recruiting a Deputy Director (Town Planning) for the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) under the Housing Urban Development & Public Health Engineering Department, as announced in Advertisement No. 11/2026 dated 9 October 2026. Two BS-18 posts are on offer, engaged on a three-year contract and open purely on merit, with the successful candidates liable to posting anywhere in Punjab under PHATA. This case is one of 13 posts spread across six Punjab Government departments carried in the same advertisement, which was published in national newspapers on 9 October 2026 at LDA Plaza, 7-Edgerton Road, Lahore, under the signature of the PPSC Secretary.
Candidates need a B.Sc. in City & Regional Planning from a recognized university, registered with the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners, along with at least seven years of relevant post-qualification experience; valid permanent PCATP registration must be held, or applied for, on or before the closing date. The post is open to male, female and transgender applicants domiciled anywhere in Punjab, aged between 21 and 28 years with the usual relaxation taking the upper limit to 33 for men and 36 for women. Shortlisted applicants will sit a 100-mark MCQ written test built around questions related to the prescribed qualification. Candidates who believe a foreign or otherwise non-standard qualification is equivalent to the one prescribed above must submit an equivalence certificate issued by the Higher Education Commission or the concerned department's Qualification Equivalence Determination Committee at the time of interview, failing which their candidature is liable to cancellation; marks or percentage certificates for every degree must also be produced, as CGPA alone is not accepted. Any experience claimed in a private firm or entity must be supported at interview with proof that the organisation was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the Registrar of Firms, or another relevant regulatory authority throughout the claimed period, failing which the application is liable to rejection.
Applications must be submitted online only via www.ppsc.gop.pk, with the Rs. 600 fee paid through ATM, mobile/internet banking, JazzCash, EasyPaisa, UPaisa or an authorised bank branch, by the closing date of 26 October 2026. Serving government employees should arrange their departmental NOC before applying, and candidates are advised to review the full case notes in the official advertisement before submission. Candidates should note that no fresh applications will be invited even if the concerned department later increases or decreases the number of advertised posts, and that test schedules, syllabi and all related notices are issued solely on the official PPSC website — information shared through any other source, including social media or private coaching pages, should not be trusted. Federal, semi-government, autonomous-body and local-body employees are reminded they are not entitled to age relaxation for their period of such service when applying against this advertisement.
