Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department
Apply before 26 October 2026. Full application steps and eligibility criteria are below.
About This Job
The Punjab Public Service Commission is recruiting three BS-18 Senior Registrar (Paediatric Ophthalmology) posts for the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department under Advertisement No. 11/2026, published 9 October 2026. Two posts are allocated to open merit and one to the women's quota; the engagement is on a three-year contract extendable on good performance, with posting across various medical universities, colleges and hospitals in Punjab. This case is one of 13 posts spread across six Punjab Government departments carried in the same advertisement, which was published in national newspapers on 9 October 2026 at LDA Plaza, 7-Edgerton Road, Lahore, under the signature of the PPSC Secretary.
Candidates need an MBBS or equivalent PMDC-recognized qualification, PMDC registration, and a postgraduate qualification such as FCPS, MS, FRCS or a Diplomate of the American Board specifically in Paediatric Ophthalmology; alternatively, a postgraduate qualification in general Ophthalmology plus one year's post-graduation experience in Paediatric Ophthalmology at a recognized institution is accepted. Only PMDC/PMC-certified practical experience gained after the qualifying degree is counted. The post is open to male, female and transgender candidates domiciled anywhere in Punjab, aged 25 to 45 years, relaxable to 50 for men and 53 for women. Candidates who believe a foreign or otherwise non-standard qualification is equivalent to the one prescribed above must submit an equivalence certificate issued by the Higher Education Commission or the concerned department's Qualification Equivalence Determination Committee at the time of interview, failing which their candidature is liable to cancellation; marks or percentage certificates for every degree must also be produced, as CGPA alone is not accepted. Any experience claimed in a private firm or entity must be supported at interview with proof that the organisation was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the Registrar of Firms, or another relevant regulatory authority throughout the claimed period, failing which the application is liable to rejection.
Applications must be submitted online only via www.ppsc.gop.pk with the Rs. 600 fee paid through an approved channel, by the closing date of 26 October 2026. In-service candidates should arrange their NOC in advance, and the official advertisement carries full eligibility detail for this specialty. Candidates should note that no fresh applications will be invited even if the concerned department later increases or decreases the number of advertised posts, and that test schedules, syllabi and all related notices are issued solely on the official PPSC website — information shared through any other source, including social media or private coaching pages, should not be trusted. Federal, semi-government, autonomous-body and local-body employees are reminded they are not entitled to age relaxation for their period of such service when applying against this advertisement.
