The Institute of Education and Research (IER) at the University of the Punjab, Lahore -- one of the country's oldest and most prominent institutes for teacher education and educational research -- has invited applications from dynamic, qualified and energetic Pakistani nationals for a combined advertisement covering multiple teaching ranks at its Quaid-i-Azam Campus: 5 posts of Professor, 8 of Associate Professor, 6 of Assistant Professor, and 4 Lecturer posts split across distinct subject specializations, all governed by HEC eligibility criteria and the university's statutory requirements for teaching staff. This posting covers the senior-most rank under that combined advertisement. Under a decision of the Institute's Board of Governors, Syndicate and Senate, all fresh recruitments at IER will be governed by the Punjab Defined Contribution Pension Scheme Rules 2025, while existing BPS employees who apply through the proper departmental channel retain the older BPS pension rules.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Education from an HEC-recognized university or institution, together with either 15 years of teaching/research experience in an HEC-recognized university or post-graduate institution (or equivalent professional experience in a national or international organization), or 10 years of such experience accrued after the Ph.D. Candidates must additionally have at least 15 research publications in HEC-recognized (HJRS-enlisted) journals, including a minimum of 5 published in the last 5 years; only research published before the closing date, in journals of at least Y-category, is admissible, and review articles, case studies and conference presentations do not count. Foreign qualifications are accepted only where HEC or IBCC has formally granted equivalence, and the age, qualification, experience and publication record must all be complete by the closing date. The post is open to both male and female applicants with no domicile restriction stated in the advertisement.

As a Professor applicant, a soft copy of the application and complete research papers (a single PDF not exceeding 20MB) on a USB drive must also accompany the hard copy. All applicants must pay a mandatory Rs. 500 online processing fee through a portal-generated challan. In addition, a pay order made out to "Director, Institute of Education & Research, University of the Punjab, Lahore" -- or an equivalent deposit to HBL account No. 01820001012503, University of the Punjab New Campus Branch -- must accompany the hard-copy application: Rs. 6,000 for Professor and Associate Professor posts, or Rs. 3,000 for Assistant Professor and Lecturer posts. Government servants must attach a Departmental Permission Certificate/NOC from their parent department, and applications submitted without the required fee proof, NOC (where applicable), or received after the closing date will be rejected outright, as will any left incomplete or delivered by hand.
